The Next 3 Days : My Review

This suspense thriller movie from director Paul Haggis is an interesting watch. Russel Crowe and Elizabeth Banks deliver solid performances while the script by Paul Haggis is taut and his direction keeps the audience glued to their seats.
The movie tells the story of a professor whose wife gets accused of murder and undergoes a jail sentence. Did She really commit the murder? What will the professor do to get his wife back? Rest of the plot answers these questions as a well written thriller gets unfolded on the silver screen. The Next 3 Days is an excellent cinematic adaptation from  "Anything For Her".
This movie makes for a brilliant watch for those who love thrillers.

Hardcore Henry : My Review

Nothing like I've ever seen in Movies.
Hardcore Henry is a magnificent thought of merging gaming and cinema. This movie is a First person shooter mode movie which gives viewers an immersive experience. The director Ilya Naishuller who is also the producer, writer and protagonist has done a marvellous job in crafting this gory Sci-Fi Thriller.
Sharlto Copley is terrific as Jimmy and he delivers a splendid performance. Cinematography is just brilliant. The fight sequences are extremely well choreographed and they are a definite highlight of the movie.
This movie is undoubtedly a great innovation and a must watch.

Burn After Reading is a dark comedy about a CIA agent Osborne Cox who causes a chain reaction of events when he quits his job.
John Malkovich is perfectly cast as the short tempered Osborne Cox while Frances Mcdormand and George Clooney provide adequate support. Brad Pitt surprises in a guest role. The movie is an accurate depiction of strained relationships in today's world. Script and Direction by Director duo Ethan and Joel Coen are good and builds curiosity during each scene.
Burn After Reading is a good one time watch for its unusual storyline and performances.

The Danish Girl : My Review

The Danish Girl is a terrific cinema inspired from a true story of a man who wished to become a woman. Yes, you heard it right.
Eddie Redmayne gives a truly marvellous and memorable performance as Einar Wegener and as Lili Elbe. Alicia Vikander emotes well and she proves why she won the best supporting actress at the oscars for the role of Gerda Wegener. Director Tom Hooper just creates magic on the silver screen with such a rare story. The Cinematography by Danny Cohen is picturesque and the BGM by Alexandre Desplate goes well with the mood of the movie. The Danish Girl is a must watch and the movie can be regarded as one of the most emotional movies of Hollywood.

Sanam Teri Kasam : My Review

Sanam Teri Kasam is a melodramatic love saga with a heart wrenching story.
The movie has a slow and steady pace along with some fantastic bgm and songs composed by Himesh Reshammiya. The director duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru creates magic on screen with the story. The script calls for a melodramatic narration and the directors have done their job with perfection. This is a pure love story with lots of emotions and not a romantic comedy or an entertainer.
Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane share a lovely on screen chemistry and their pairing looks great. They deliver solid performances as Inder and Saru.
Such stories are rare and they should be enjoyed slowly. This movie might appear as over-dramatic to some as it has a slow pace and has cliches in store. But if these are edited, then the movie loses its soul.
Sanam Teri Kasam will be a treat to lovers and is one of the few pure love stories ever released in Bollywood.

Happy New Year : My Review

Happy New Year is a comedy crime revenge drama which tells the story of Charlie, who gathers a team of 5 losers to plan a robbery and seek revenge on Charan Grover. The movie is a fun ride and has lots of hilarious moments. The entertainment quotient of the movie is high and the music by Vishal-Shekhar is excellent while cinematography by Manush Nandan is terrific.
The narration is done in such a way that a comic relief is always around the corner but even then some scenes are too childish and unnecessary. The direction needs precision and the robbery scenes are good but arise lots of doubts when the plan is executed by Charlie and team.
The movie has lots of factors working against it :
1) 3hr running time which includes 6 long introductions of 6 main characters, some scenes which are nothing but mockery and completely unnecessary.
2) The robbery scenes should have been filmed in a serious mode but the movie includes humour which turns out to be  inappropriate.
3)Convenient writing at places like, when security always looks elsewhere when CCTV is being hacked !!
Apart from all these, the movie still delivers entertainment. The colourful sets, exceptional costumes, pleasant songs and exotic locations add to the beauty of this movie.
Watch this movie if you love fun and entertainment and don't worry about too much details regarding the plot and narration.

Wazir : My Review

Wazir is a brilliant cinema with an emotional storyline which surprises the viewers by transforming into a psychological thriller. Amitabh Bachchan delivers a stupendous performance as OmkarNath Dhar. He proves his acting skills are uncomparable and enacts his role with perfection. Farhan Akhthar is good as Daanish while Manav Kaul is perfectly cast as the villain.
Daanish loses his only daughter in an attack and then he meets Omkarnath dhar who also lost his daughter in a tragedy. They strike up a friendship and what unfolds is an amazing cinematic experience.
Director Bejoy Nambiar has successfully made a brilliant movie and he has knitted the theme of chess or "shatranj" into this movie with great finesse. The music, composed by 6 brilliant composers is a definite highlight of the movie. The cinematography by Sanu Varghese deserves special mention while the story by Vidhu Vinod Chopra is fascinating.
Wazir is a must watch and a welcome change from the conventional thrillers.

Rocky Handsome : My Review

Rocky Handsome is a hardcore action drama which discusses the drug and organ trafficking mafia in our country.
The movie has some great action sequences and John Abraham just sizzles in the role of Kabir Ahlawat. Nishikant Kamat does a splendid job as both the director and Villain. This movie is a brutal depiction of the horrifying organ trade happening in our country. The music by Meet bros and Jeet Ganguli is just terrific and goes well with the mood of the movie. Nishikant Kamat has made a good remake from "The Man from Nowhere" and the movie makes for a decent watch for action lovers.
