John Wick 2 : My Review

Pros:
Mind Blowing Action Sequences
Casting
Cinematography

Cons:
Strictly for Action genre lovers since the movie is a bit gory.

John Wick 2 is a hardcore action packed sequel to John Wick and has some terrific action sequences. The plot revolves around what happens when Jonathan is given an impossible task by Italian crime lord Santino D'Antonio.
Keanu Reeves does some mind blowing action sequences and he is simply charismatic. Ricardo Scamarcio plays the main villain and he portrays Santino D'Antonio with finesse. Director Chad Stahelski has done a stupendous job in making this sequel, a truly riveting one. The unique quality about the movie is that it is completely engaging even though there is hardly any story which unfolds before you. The screenplay keeps you hooked since the action sequences are well choreographed. The cat and mouse game just gets better with each scene.
The action sequences are realistic and they have been shot with perfection. This movie is not for the faint-hearted since it has bullets being put into skull every now and then (even though with panache!) and lots of bloodshed.
This movie will be a treat for action lovers and is definitely a great sequel to John Wick Series.

My Rating : 4/5

Ezra : My Review

Pros :
Taut Story Telling
Fresh Story Premise
Cinematography
BGM

Cons :
Climax is bit of a letdown when compared to rest of the movie.
Few Loose ends in the screenplay.

Malayalam cinema is going places thanks to cinematic experiments like Ezra. Good Horror movies are still hot cakes when it comes to box office and Prithviraj proves it with Ezra.
Ezra is a fresh take on the Jewish Myth of Dybbuk. Prithviraj delivers a solid performance as Ranjan Abraham while Priya Anand's debut performance is good even though she had an improper lip sync at times. Ezra makes for an engaging watch thanks to the terrific camerawork by Sujith Vaassudev and Rajeev Ravi as well as the brilliant BGM which adds more life into movie's jump scare scenes. Newbie director Jay K has done a terrific job at directing this movie with finesse even though the climax might not live up to the expectations of most horror movie viewers. Also there are a few loopholes which will linger on even after the movie. Apart from that, this attempt from Jay K is truly commendable since this is a complete horror movie with ample research and not a horror comedy.
Ezra is a good one time watch given it has a a fresh premise which has never been discussed before in Indian Cinema. Watch it for the taut direction which will keep you hooked, brilliant camerawork and the spine chilling BGM.

My Rating : 3.5/5

Jolly LLB 2 : My Review

Pros:
Court Room Scenes
Annu Kapoor's, Saurabh Shukla's and Sayani Gupta's Performance

Cons:
No Wow Factor.
Story is simple and there are no exceptional Twists.

Jolly LLB 2 is an engaging movie but the movie is surprisingly ordinary and the plot revolves around how a lawyer fights the case of a pregnant widow whose husband was killed. A Serious Case, A Talented Lawyer who has no cases in hand, A cunning Opponent Lawyer, Menacing Real- World Villains and Saurabh Shukla - this second installment has all these factors like the first movie had. While Jolly LLB was a surprise hit with Arshad Warsi delivering a solid performance as Jagdish Tyagi , this Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly surely is a harmless watch but does not recreate the magic Jolly LLB did.

Akshay Kumar is good as Jagdish Mishra and Annu Kapoor does an excellent job as Pramod Mathur, the Opponent Lawyer. Subhash Kapoor has done a great job in scripting this movie and his direction is also equally good. Sayani Gupta is good in her role, even though a it is brief. Kumud Mishra plays the baddie but his role hardly has any scope of improvement in the movie. Cinematography by Kamal Jeet Negi is ordinary and the Music by MeetBros, Manj Musik and Chirantan Bhatt is nothing extraordinary but the BGM by Vishal Khurana is functional.

Jolly LLB 2 is a good one time watch thanks to Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla.
