Raabta : My Review

Movie : Raabta
Year : 2017
Pros :
Good Direction
Good Performances
Sizzling on-screen chemistry of the lead pair
Perfect casting
Cons :
Shallow Plot
Screenplay had scope of improvement
Raabta is a fantasy romance drama which tells the story of rebirths. The plot revolves around how the love story of Shiv and Saira takes a turn when Zakir enters their lives.
The script by Siddharth - Garima lacks depth and the screenplay could have been better. The deft narration and direction by Dinesh Vijan makes this movie very watchable. Moreover the lead pair, Sushant and Kriti were just brilliant on screen with their chemistry working out very well. Jim Sarbh is a good find and he does complete justice to his role as Zakir Merchant, an eccentric lover and a liquor business tycoon. Camera Work by Martin Preiss is good and editing by Sreekar Prasad is praiseworthy. Rajkummar Rao has a cameo in which he can barely be recognized due to prosthetics which is shabbily done.
So, Raabta is a simple love  which can be watched for its good performances and the narration which makes it engaging. It is quite normal if you feel the movie has clichés because which love story doesn't ?! This movie is a harmless one time watch.
Watch it or not ?
Entertainment lovers : Yes ! Go for it !
Story Lovers : One time watch won't hurt.
My Rating : 3/5
