Dissociative Identity Disorder. A Person with 23 distinct personalities. M.Night Shyamalan at the helm. SPLIT stars James McAvoy in the lead and he plays Kevin, a person suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) who abducts 3 teen girls for a mysterious reason. When you watch James McAvoy play the role of Kevin/Dennis/Patricia/Hedwig/Jade/Barry, you realize that the movie has something incredible in store for you. M. Night Shyamalan has written the script of SPLIT giving each character the required detailing and his exquisite direction makes it engrossing from start till the very end.
James McAvoy delivers a scintillating performance as Kevin and captivates the viewers throughout the movie, especially during the scenes where the multiple personalities emerge, one after the other. Anya Taylor Joy does total justice to her role as Casie Cook and Betty Buckley portrays Dr. Karen Fletcher with ease. The Cinematography by Mike Gioulakis is a major highlight of the movie and his terrific camerawork makes the movie, a totally engaging affair.
SPLIT is undoubtedly a genuine movie which explores the dark side of multiple personality disorders and this movie will definitely be remembered for James McAvoy's unparalleled performance. This movie is a must watch for all movie lovers and is one of the best movies from the director M. Night Shyamalan till date.
