Life : My Review

Pros :
Calvin - The alien entity
Fantastic Direction
Cinematography

Cons:
A bit too gory at places

Life is Sci-Fi Horror Thriller which tells the fascinating but terrifying story of  how a space mission goes awry after an alien species develops inside International Space Station from a Martian soil sample.
Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson are excellent in their roles. Ryan Reynolds has less screen time but he does his role well. The abominable alien entity is named Calvin and it is very well etched and presented in the movie. Calvin is truly menacing and it is depicted as an alien species having cells which are muscular, nervous and photoreceptive at the same time.
Daniel Espinosa has directed this movie very well and his taut direction makes the movie a completely engaging watch. Cinematography by Seamus Mcgarvey is just terrific and his camerawork is a definite highlight of the movie. Music by Jon Ekstrand goes well with the mood of the film.
This is a unique film with an alien predator on the loose in space and the making of the movie is what makes it a stupendous watch. The viewing experience is great and having said that I have to add that the movie does get a bit gory at places. Life is a must watch for "Calvin" and Daniel Espinosa's direction.

My Rating : 4.5/5

  1. I would say gory parts are a must because, the element of thrill comes to life when blood and gore is shown, which makes the concept of a real danger almost real...!

    1. Yes, I agree !! Just added that because a section of the viewers doesn't tolerate gore and hence just gave them an information regarding that.
