Allied is a War Romance Drama which tells the intriguing story of Max Vatan, an Intelligence Officer and Marianne Beausejour, a French Resistance fighter. Marion Cotillard delivers a powerful performance as Marianne Beausejour while Brad Pitt looks good and plays his role with ease.The pacing of the movie could have been better but the screen presence of the lead pair. atones for that negative aspect. The Direction by Robert Zemeckis works well for the movie and some of the scenes linger on even as we leave the Cinema Hall. His direction is unique and the splendid cinematography by Don Burgess makes the movie, a visual treat.
Screenplay by Steven Knight is good and the emotional scenes are well written and creates good impact. The Production Designer Gary Freeman does an exceptional job at recreating the World War 2 scenario and thus setting the perfect backdrop for the movie. Overall, Allied is a good watch thanks to the lovely lead pair and good direction from Robert Zemeckis.
